②世界初の帝国アッカド王サルゴン 紀元前3000年～紀元前2000年 河東 丈二

エジプトより500年から800年ぐらい遅れ、メソポタミアでは、アッカド王サルゴンが初めて統一国家をつくり、世界初の帝国が誕生しました。歴史上で使われる帝国の定義にはいろいろありますが、ここではシンプルに「いろいろな言語を話す人を1つの国が治める」ということにしておきましょう。これが意味するものは、国を治めるための共通語が必要だということです。アッカド語が世界初の共通語（リンガ・フランカ）になりました。

　粘土板には、サルゴンの宮廷にはインダス川から持ち込んだ水牛が飼われていたという記録があります。大帝国の皇帝は周囲の世界を全部統一したらもうすることがない。だから「動物も植物も全部集めてやろう、昔の人間も全部子分にしよう」と動植物園や博物館、図書館をつくります。サルゴンから始まった世界帝国・世界帝王の理念の流れがルーヴル美術館であり大英博物館なのです。人間の考えることは昔も今も一緒です。

　その後、ナラム・シンという大王様が現れますが、ナラム・シンは生きている時に「俺は神だ」といった最初の王様です。全て集め尽くすと最後はそうなるんですね。王様は神であるという概念もこの時代のアッカド帝国に始まっています。

　エジプトは古王国という統一国家の時代が500年ぐらい続き、またいろいろ争乱の時代があって、次に中王国ができます。この中王国というのは日本の歴史ではあまり教えられていないのですが、実は歴史上では大変重要です。最近の学問で、地中海文明は中王国の影響をものすごく受けていることが分かってきたのです。

　例えば、地中海文明の始まりはクレタ文明（ミノア文明）ですね。クレタ文明を象徴するのは何かというとラビリンス（迷宮）ですが、中王国の王様を葬る葬祭殿は中庭が迷宮になっているのです。

　象徴的なものではホメロスの『イーリアス』という物語。そこにはトロイア勢の応援に来たエチオピアのメムノンという強い王様が登場するのですが、このモデルが中王国の王様のアメンエムハト3世らしいのです。何もないところにぱっと文明なんか起きるはずはなくて、全部つながっていると考えたら当たり前のことですよね。

　そして、だいぶ遅れてこの頃（B.C.2000年ごろ）、中国でも文明が始まり、二里頭という文化が栄え始めました。出現した青銅器などからこれが伝説の中国最古の王朝「夏」ではないかといわれています。しかし文字がないので確認できません。

The world's first empire, a common language, a museum, and a library

About 500 to 800 years behind Egypt, in Mesopotamia, King Sargon of Akkadian created the first unified nation, and the world's first empire was born. There are various definitions of the empire used in history, but let's simply say "one country governs people who speak different languages". What this means is that we need a common language to govern the country. Akkadian has become the world's first common language (lingua franca).

There is a record on the clay tablet that the buffalo brought from the Indus River was kept in the court of Sargon. The emperor of the great empire has nothing to do once the world around him is unified. That's why he would create a zoo and botanical garden, a museum, and a library, saying, "Let's collect all animals and plants, and Let's make all the old humans subordinates." The Louvre Museum and the British Museum are the flow of ideas of the World Empire and the World Empire that began in Sargon. Human thinking is the same as it used to be.

After that, a great king named Naram-Sin appears, but Naram-Sin is the first king to say "I am a god" when he is alive. If you collect all of them, that will happen at the end. The concept that a king is a god also began in the Akkadian Empire of this era.

Egypt has been a unified nation of the Old Kingdom for about 500 years, and there have been various times of conflict, and then the Middle Kingdom will be formed. This Middle Kingdom is not well taught in Japanese history, but it is actually very important in history. Recent scholarship has revealed that the Mediterranean civilization is heavily influenced by the Middle Kingdom.

For example, the beginning of the Mediterranean civilization is the Cretan civilization (Minoan civilization). The labyrinth symbolizes the Cretan civilization, but the courtyard of the mortuary temple where the King of the Middle Kingdom is buried is a labyrinth.

The symbolic story is Homer's "Iliad". A strong king named Memnon of Ethiopia who came to support the Trojans appears there, but this model seems to be Amenemhat III, the king of the Middle Kingdom. Civilization cannot happen in a place where there is nothing, and it is natural to think that everything is connected.

And, a long time later (around B.C. 2000), civilization began in China, and the culture of Erlitou began to prosper. From the bronze ware that appeared, it is said that this is the legendary oldest dynasty in China, "Xia". However, it cannot be confirmed because there are no characters.
