　ムアーウィヤが大帝国をつくったとき、アリーにはハサンとフサインという2人の子供がいました。長男のハサンはわりとクールだったので「もうムアーウィヤが治めてくれたらええ」と遊んで暮らします。ところが次男のフサインは悶々（もんもん）としていたわけです。殺されたお父さんの言うことが正しいのか、それともムアーウィヤが正しいのか。

　そのときにイランの東方のクーファという軍営都市からフサインのところに「アリーの考えが正しいのであなたを親分と認めて、ゼロからまき直しましょう、クーファに来てください」という使いが来るのです。それでフサインはお兄さんと相談するわけですが、お兄さんはもう「時代が違うで」と、あいかわらず遊んでいる。

　フサインは自分の一族を連れて、数十人でクーファを目指して旅に出ます。それを知ったウマイヤ朝の2代皇帝ヤズィードは軍隊を派遣します。大帝国の軍隊と、旅をしている50人では話にならない。カルバラーの戦いというのが行われて、そこで女性と子供は助かるのですけれど、それ以外の大人は全員殺されます。

　このときにスンナ（スンニ）派とシーア派とに分かれるのです。シーア派というのはムハンマドとアリー、フサインの血統を大事にするグループで、スンナ派という多数派はムハンマドの言行録、ムハンマドの行動通りにやればいいというグループ。これはリーダーの争いで教義の争いではないんですね。シーア派はイランではめちゃくちゃ強いのですが、フサインの奥さんの1人がサーサーン朝ペルシャの王女なのです。

　そうするとフサインの子供たちはムハンマドの血を引いているだけではなく、アカイメネス朝ペルシャから延々と続くペルシャの王族の血を引いているわけです。こんな尊い人ってあんまりいないでしょう。だからシーア派ではこのフサインの血を引く人々をイマームと呼んで、イマームしかこの世のリーダーはいないという形になっています。

　ですから、ヨーロッパの宗教戦争のようにスンナ派とシーア派が血で血を洗う戦いをやったことはほとんどないのです。もちろん戦ったケースはあります。でもそれはだいたい誰かにそそのかされているケースです。そう考えるとイスラム教の基本が分かりやすいと思います。

　イスラム帝国のウマイヤ朝はスペインまで占領してしまい、アフリカも領土としているので、地中海はすべてキリスト教とイスラム教に囲まれました。どっちも一神教ですよね。神様も一緒です。このことによってギリシャ、ローマの多神教の世界が姿を消します。イスラム教の大征服をもって、一神教革命が西方ユーラシアでは完成したといわれています。多神教の豊かな世界が姿を消したわけです。

Husayn takes his clan and goes on a journey aiming for Kufa with dozens of people. Knowing this, the second Umayyad emperor Yazid dispatches an army. At this time, it is divided into Sunni and Shiites. The Shiites are a group that values ​​the pedigree of Muhammad, Ally, and Husayn, and a Sunni majority is a group that should follow Muhammad's words and deeds and Muhammad's actions. This is a battle for leaders, not a battle for doctrine. The Shiites are insanely strong in Iran, but one of Husayn's wives is a Sassanian Persian princess.

Then, the children of Husayn not only have the blood of Muhammad, but also the blood of the Persian royal family that continues endlessly from the Akaimenes dynasty Persia. There aren't many people like this. Therefore, in the Shiites, the people of Husayn's blood are called Imams, and only Imams are the leaders of the world.
